Sum-up for Q I 2024: the expenditures of the special fund of the state budget for the security and defence sector of Ukraine amounted to UAH 159.8 bn

According to Ukraine’s defence and security sector authorities, in the first quarter of this year, the expenditures of the special fund of the state budget under this source of financing amounted to UAH 159.8 bn, or 113.3% of the annual plan. This is UAH 56.1 bn, or 54%, more than in January-March last year.

This is evidenced with the analysis carried out by experts of the NSDC Office jointly with representatives of the security and defence sector of Ukraine as part of the monitoring of the implementation of the NSDC decision dated 9 October 2023 “On Proposals to the Draft Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024” on the Items Related to Ensuring National Security and Defence of Ukraine”, enacted by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 682 dated 9 October 2023.

The experts say the analysis shows that in Q1 2024, the planned revenues to the special fund of the state budget for the security and defence sector of Ukraine have been met. This had a positive impact, in particular, on their provision with material and technical resources.

It should be noted that 71.8% of the expenditures of the special fund of the state budget are charitable contributions, grants, gifts, and revenues from enterprises, organisations, individuals, and other budgetary institutions.

In addition, the sources of this fund were as follows: fees for services provided by budgetary institutions; economic activities; property lease fees; sale of property; delivery of scrap metal and military equipment, etc.

The plan for 2024 envisaged UAH 119.8 bn of expenditures from the special fund of the state budget for the security and defence sector of Ukraine.
